After two weeks of the 2025 NFL season, fantasy football leagues are starting to take shape. For those looking to make a splash and improve their rosters, the waiver wire is a crucial tool.
This week brings several high-value targets, with injuries and expanded roles creating opportunities for savvy managers.
From a potential league-winners to high-volume players, here are the players you should be targeting on the waiver wire ahead of Week 3.
Waiver Wire Quarterback Targets
Daniel Jones (Indianapolis Colts): If you haven’t yet, now’s the time to snag Jones. “Indiana Jones,” as they are calling him, has been a revelation in Indianapolis, showcasing his dual-threat ability and putting up impressive numbers in his first two games. He’s a top streaming option and a potential long-term play.
Jake Browning (Cincinnati Bengals): With Joe Burrow’s injury expected to sideline him for at least three months, Browning is now the starting quarterback for a high-powered offense. He has a great supporting cast of pass-catchers and is a must-add in all formats, especially with the high volume of passing expected from the Bengals.
Michael Penix Jr. (Atlanta Falcons): After a strong Week 1 outing, Penix struggled in Week 2, and might have found his way back on quite a few leagues’ waiver wires. Penix has the surrounding support to be a decent fantasy producer, mostly as a matchup-dependent streamer or as a QB2 in Superflex leagues.
Waiver Wire Running Back Targets
Bhayshul Tuten (Jacksonville Jaguars): Tuten is a top priority this week. He had a strong performance with 74 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in Week 2 and appears to be a key part of the Jaguars’ backfield alongside Travis Etienne Jr.
Cam Skattebo (New York Giants): Skattebo surpassed Tyrone Tracy in rushing attempts in Week 2, and caught 2 passes as well, while getting high snap counts and red zone carries. He’s a high-priority add with a clear path to a significant role.
Jeremy McNichols/Chris Rodriguez Jr. (Washington Commanders): With Austin Ekeler out, both McNichols and Rodriguez are now on the fantasy radar. Either one of these is a deep stash, with not much upside. Jacory Croskey-Merritt will receive a major uptick in rush attempts, but they’re not going to overwork him.
Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons): Allgeier continues to be a viable handcuff and a fantasy contributor, as he’s getting enough work to be a reliable depth piece, as shown by his 76-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 2.
Blake Corum (Los Angeles Rams): Corum has established himself as a primary handcuff for Kyren Williams. He’s a great stash, especially since he’s getting red zone carries and scored a touchdown in Week 2.
Waiver Wire Wide Receiver Targets
Wan’Dale Robinson (New York Giants): For the second consecutive week, Robinson is a top waiver target. He had a massive Week 2, catching eight passes for 142 yards and a touchdown, and has a strong rapport with Russell Wilson.
Troy Franklin (Denver Broncos): Franklin has a strong connection with his college QB, Bo Nix, and is solidifying his role as the team’s second wide receiver. He had a breakout game in Week 2 with eight receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Kayshon Boutte (New England Patriots): Boutte had a great preseason and is now performing in the regular season, with a 100-yard game in Week 1 and a touchdown in Week 2. He seems to be a preferred target for quarterback Drake Maye.
Elic Ayomanor (Tennessee Titans): Ayomanor has emerged as a starter and has been targeted 13 times in two games, scoring his first career touchdown in Week 2. He has strong chemistry with rookie QB Cam Ward.
Romeo Doubs (Green Bay Packers): With Jayden Reed likely to miss significant time with a collarbone injury, Doubs is poised for a bigger role and is a must-add in all leagues.
Waiver Wire Tight End Targets
Juwan Johnson (New Orleans Saints): Johnson leads all tight ends in targets through the first two weeks and is a great streaming option, especially with other Saints dealing with injuries.
Harold Fannin Jr. (Cleveland Browns): Fannin is a favorite target for Joe Flacco in an offense that loves to pass. He is a solid TE2 with breakout potential.
Isaiah Likely (Baltimore Ravens): Likely has been out with a foot injury, but the Ravens are “encouraged” by his progress. He is an excellent high-upside stash with Mark Andrews struggling to start the season.
Zach Ertz (Washington Commanders): Ertz has been a security blanket for QB Jayden Daniels, scoring a touchdown in each of the first two games. He’s a reliable streaming option.
