Raiders Sign Brian Hoyer
The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent quarterback Brian Hoyer to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to the team. Hoyer spent the last three seasons serving as a backup with the New England Patriots, but he'll now reunite with his former offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels, who is Vegas' head coach. The 37-year-old is entering his 15th NFL season and is more of a coach than a player at this point in his career. Hoyer had three stints with the Patriots and has completed 59.4 percent ... Texans Non-Committal On Two-QB System For Week 15
The Houston Texans effectively used a two-quarterback system with Davis Mills and Jeff Driskel on Sunday and almost pulled off the biggest upset of the year in Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. It was the first time the Texans played two QBs 30-plus snaps since they used Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet in tandem in 2015. If Houston is going to continue this setup going forward, they'll have to sign Driskel to the active roster. But head coach Lovie Smith was non-committal about the two-QB system ... [Read More]
Browns Defense A Solid Option In Week 6
The Cleveland Browns defense has struggled to prevent opposing offenses from scoring this season, but they may get a break in a home matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 6. The Patriots are likely to start fourth-round draft pick Bailey Zappe at quarterback with both Mac Jones (ankle) and Brian Hoyer (concussion) dealing with injuries. The Pats are likely to lean heavily on the run game on Sunday, which has been a problem area for Cleveland's defense in 2022. That being said, this ... [Read More]
Brian Hoyer Placed On Injured Reserve
New England Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer (concussion) has been placed on the injured reserve. That means, Hoyer will miss at least the next four weeks of action. Mac Jones (ankle) is still banged up as well, so Bailey Zappe could be asked to start in Week 5. At this moment, it sounds like the Pats are leaning towards starting Zappe versus the Detroit Lions this week. That being said, fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option than Zappe for this upcoming week. [Read More]
Packers Defense Records Four Sacks, Forces Fumble
The Green Bay Packers defense surrendered 18 points, recorded four sacks, forced one fumble, and recovered it during the team's 27-24 victory overtime victory over the New England Patriots. Six of the Patriots' 24 points came off a pick-six by Jack Jones. It was an overall disappointing performance from a Packers defense that faced not only backup quarterback Brian Hoyer but third-stringer Bailey Zappe, who stepped in for the injured Hoyer. Green Bay has had trouble generating turnovers so far ... [Read More]
